Restaurants have endured particular hardships amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and with a focus on advocacy for the restaurant industry, Visit Denver — the city’s convention and visitors bureau — has announced a fall Denver Restaurant Week to take place Nov. 13-22.
With COVID-19 precautions in place to keep the community safe, the November “program will still showcase the creative, exciting menus that diners have come to expect,” states a news release on Visit Denver’s website.
“For the past 16 years, we have been able to applaud the phenomenal growth of Denver’s culinary community with Denver Restaurant Week,” said Richard Scharf, president and CEO of Visit Denver in the news release. “Now, it is time for the city to come together for this industry by dining out or taking out, so we have their hospitality, creativity and good food to enjoy for many years to come.”
As in years past, the fall Denver Restaurant Week will feature specially-priced menus from some of the finest restaurants across the metro area. Restaurants will choose one of three available price points — which are $25, $35 or $45 — and create a multi-course dinner at that price. The fall event, however, will feature the option for takeout and delivery from some of the restaurants, including those that offer alcohol alongside to-go and delivery orders.
“Restaurants play a vital role in Denver’s communities — they make our city unique. And right now, they are navigating an unprecedented crisis. If they’re going to survive the winter, they need our support,” said Sonia Riggs, president and CEO of the Colorado Restaurant Association. “We ask the public to consider what they’d lose if they lost their local restaurants, and to dine out and take out — during Denver Restaurant Week and then all winter long — to ensure that doesn’t happen.”
Participating restaurants and menus were announced Oct. 26. Diners are able browse the wide variety of options on www.denver.org/denver-restaurant-week. Diners may also make reservations or plan their takeout orders by contacting the individual restaurants.
