New art event

Littleton Garden Club
The Littleton Garden Club will not meet during the fall. The board will decide in January if in-person gathering is possible for rest of year. Dues will be carried over, requiring a separate email vote later.
En Plein Air on the Prairie
Local artist/instructor Pam Roth O’Mara will offer three outdoor classes in painting at the Plains Conservation Center, 21901 E. Bemis Library
In August, kids can pick up books and coupons with presentation of completed summer reading logs at Littleton’s Bemis Library, 6014 S. Datura St. “Imagine your story.” Remember to look for the story posted in trees at the park by the library.
Depot Art Gallery
The Depot Art Gallery, 2069 W. Powers Ave. in Littleton, has a new walkway, built as an Eagle Scout project by Nikita Heitz. The Littleton Museum supplied materials and Heitz recruited friends to help him build the new walkway, which will be safer for entering the Depot when it opens again. Poetry Month set for September
Usually, April is Poetry Month, which seems appropriate with thoughts of spring, flowers, soft breezes, trees leafing out, etc. … But this year is out of whack generally and the Castle Rock Writers, who usually hold a spring event, have switched to September, in conjunction with the Poetry Society of Colorado. Colorado poet Juan Morales, who teaches creative writing at Colorado State University-Pueblo, recently presented “Writing the Poems of Our Land” on Zoom, with a focus on the diverse voices and the makeup of our cultures, foods, communities and homes, in free form and in verse.
