Douglas County saw two shootings over the weekend, with one resulting in a death and another ending in the arrest of a former Denver Broncos player, according to the sheriff's office.
Early Saturday, May 16, deputies responded to the Zenith Meridian Apartments, in unincorporated Douglas County near Lone Tree, after receiving reports of an argument followed by shots fired inside an apartment. Inside, deputies said they found three people, one of whom was injured but not due to the gunshot.
Cody Latimer, a former Denver Broncos player who is currently on the roster of the Washington Redskins, was taken into custody. Latimer, 27, was held on suspicion of assault, menacing and illegal discharge of a firearm, as well as prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment, according to the sheriff's office.
Latimer was taken to the Douglas County jail and held on a $25,000 bond until he posted bail a few hours after being arrested. Latimer is set to appear in court July 24 at 8:30 a.m.
At about 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, deputies responded to the 300 block of Ovida Place in Castle Pines after hearing reports of gunshots. Once there, deputies found a man dead inside the home. The man has been identified as Fletcher Lou Bodnar, age 36.
Dominique Wogan, 33, was held on suspicion of homicide and possession of weapons by a previous offender, deputies said. They said they believe Wogan knew the victim.
Wogan wasbeing held with a bond set at $500,000. If he makes bond, he will appear in court July 24; if not, he will appear May 21, authorities said.
