Holiday lights down on the farm at Denver Botanic Gardens' Chatfield site

Trail of Lights at Chatfield Farms through Jan. 2

Posted

Once again, Denver Botanic Gardens' Chatfield Farms site is aglow with holiday color in a rustic setting with the return of Trail of Lights.

Wandering paths take you under illuminated trees and around vintage farm buildings. Hot beverages, nuts and kettle corn are sold at the entrance, and there are a fire pit and warming hut to help you ward off the chill. The kids will enjoy singing trees and a dancing gingerbread man.

Chatfield Farms is adjacent to the Jefferson County part of Littleton. It's located on Deer Creek Canyon Road west of South Wadsworth Boulevard, just south of C-470. For your map app, the address is 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton 80128.

Lights are on display Fridays through Sundays through Dec. 12, and then every night from Dec. 17 through Jan. 2 (closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25). Hours are 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults; $13 for Botanic Gardens members, students, people 65 and older, military and children 3-15; and $10 for child members. No tickets are required for children 2 and under. Parking is free. The trails are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs, but they could be icy.

You'll need to buy a timed ticket in advance; tickets are limited in each 30-minute time slot and they may sell out. Tickets are not sold onsite. And at the Botanic Gardens' main York Street campus, the Blossoms of Light display is on view through the holidays.
