Twenty-two veterans and active duty military from all over the metro area added a furry friend to their family between Nov. 9 and 13. During that week, the Dumb Friends League waived adoption fees for veterans and active military in honor of Veterans Day. The waived fees were sponsored by the Petco Foundation. Courtesy of Lockheed Martin, the Dumb Friends League offers a 50% adoption discount for veterans and active military year-round.

The Dumb Friends League has a mission to end pet homelessness and animal suffering. In addition to adoptions, it offers a variety of services to the community, including some veterinary care. To learn more, visit www.ddfl.org
