Residents and business owners are invited to drop off all unwanted paint at the PaintCare recycling event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 24 at South High School, 1700 E. Louisiana Ave. in Denver.

House paints, stains, primers, sealers and clear-top coatings (varnish and shellac) are all accepted at the event. Any amount of latex or oil-based paint will be accepted from households, but some businesses might face restrictions on the amount of oil-based paint they can turn in.

To register for a time to drop-off unwanted paint, go to www.eventbrite.com/e/paint-drop-off-event-denver-south-high-school-tickets-64309188514. Businesses with questions can go to paintcare.org/CO or call 855-PAINT09.

In its fourth year, the program has nearly 175 drop-off sites in the state.

According to a news release, PaintCare recycled 654,476 gallons of unwanted, unused paint from residents and businesses across the state in 2018. The program has collected and processed more than 2.37 million gallons of paint since it began in 2015.
