Denver Botanic Gardens Summer Concert Series presents: Steep Canyon Rangers

Grammy-award-winning bluegrass group Steep Canyon Rangers (steepcanyon.com) joins the talented lineup served up by the Denver Botanic Gardens Summer Concert Series. The sextet hails from North Carolina and is touring in support of their new album RADIO. Although known for their backup musicianship with banjo-wielding comedian Steve Martin, their solo work has received enthusiastic praise from numerous critics. Opening act Trout Steak Revival (troutsteak.com) made their mark winning the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition and an Emmy for their soundtrack with Rocky Mountain PBS. Mizel Museum and Temple Emanuel kicks off its Cultural Fusion Concert Series, showcasing “an eclectic lineup of artists who blend geographic and cultural influences to create a unifying force of music.” This first concert in the series features jazz saxophonist Jacques Schwarz-Bart, a native of Guadeloupe. This latest project allows Schwarz-Bart to explore “the folkloric tradition of his ancestry—Jewish liturgical music.” This jazz quartet joins us from New York City for a one-night-only performance.
