Happy summer Denverites!

After taking last year off, Denver Days is happening this year and runs through Aug. 8. Denver Days is a great way to reconnect with your neighbors by attending or hosting a block party, participating in a service project or stopping by a picnic in the park. We are very excited to announce that our Broadway Halloween Parade is returning on Oct. 23. The parade will feature all the favorites again, including local marching bands, historic hearse cars, spooky floats and more. Stretching from Fifth Avenue down to Alameda, the parade is a family-friendly event and group costumes are very encouraged. The event is also a great way to support our Broadway small businesses after a difficult year and slow sales from the pandemic. To jump start the economy, Denver will invest more than $700 million into our economic recovery by leveraging federal and local stimulus dollars. The city will ask voters on the November 2021 ballot to approve a $400 million bond program for infrastructure projects. Every $10 million spent on construction supports 130 jobs, so the bond program would serve thousands of workers and stimulate the local economy at a time when we need it most.

Please remember, as more people are outside and walking around, please trim your trees and bushes. City ordinance requires that property owners keep sidewalks clear at all times, which includes adjacent sidewalks, streets, alleys or street corners. If there are properties that need maintenance, you can report them to 311 or pocketgov.org. An inspector will visit the property, educate the owner and correct the violations.
